Samish racing in Guemes Channel circa 1912 In talking with the Natives,, they have told me that the canoe races of the old days posted faster times then they can meet today,, because the paddlers of old were raised to paddle,, they cant beat the old times, dont know if this is true,, but some merit must be attatched to it.
