GIFC December Monthly Meeting 12/14/2023

Minutes from previous meeting were approved as written.

New Business: February Date 02/25/2024 Sunday, 2PM was set for the GIFC Annual meeting. Nomination and Election process for one open position, John Hopkins has chosen not to run for re-election.

The Annual Meeting agenda was discussed to include

Nominations from the floor and then decision to have a mail in ballot if there are more than one person seeking the position.

New Ferry Update, Bids, Cost, and timeline

Dock improvements as presented at the neighborhood meeting

Ticketing System: Technology, Paper Tickets, Software and Booth placement.

Guemes Island Parking Lot: Paving, Waiting Structure, ADA, and Possible Paid Parking

Topics of Interest: Budget, Ferry Capital Improvement Plan, COVID Funding, Insurance, State Ferry Deficit Reimbursement, Fellow Ferry Committees, Skagit Council of Governments, and Gees Bend, Alabama all electric ferry feedback.

Who to invite: Commissioners, Public Works, Ferry Manager, Legislative Officials, Islanders and Property owners.

Communication: Email and posting of Notice of intended meeting Date, Agenda and Pending Election and Nominations from the floor.
